About Department of Hotel Management
Ethiopia, in east Africa, has enormous natural, cultural, and historical attractions, and comfortable accommodations, as well as well qualified and competent graduates, play an important role in attracting tourists to such attractions.
The department of hotel management was established here at the University of Gondar in 2004 E.C. It started out as a three-year program and was a part of the tourism department until it was formally established as a separate department in 2004 E.C. As of 2013 E.C., this program has been redesigned as a four-year program.
Nonetheless, the program is designed to provide students with comprehensive intellectual training as well as practical experience in the field by bringing in additional valuable courses, inviting scholars from various disciplines to pursue integrated courses, and providing a channel for students to pursue their industrial training.
